Sept. 2018 issue of Vogue

Vogue magazine’s September issue will soon be on newstands. It has a formal portrait of one of America’s Best Undressed people—Stormy Daniels. Guess who the photographer is.... Give up? It’s none other than...drum roll...Annie Leibovitz.

I just thought you fashionistas would want to know.

I remember that as so much background noise for a time.

What finally got me to take notice was when she came to Memphis.

She made an appearance at one of the most rundown low brow “establishments” in the city.

A real trashy, hole in the wall kind of place.

I remember thinking at the time “Wow, she’s nothing like the media portrayed her if she’ll book that place”.

Guess I don’t have a reliable reference point for that stuff.

Hardly what I’d think of as a Leibovitz photo shoot location.

I wonder why 60 Minutes didn’t choose to interview her in the parking lot in Memphis, LMAO.

Annie could have set up by the dumpster out front, to the side, or out back, just watch out for the syringes and broken liquor bottles. Or any of the old run down For Lease warehouses next door.

The irony is that the implication is 180 degrees out of phase with how she is presented in the media both in reference to Trump as well as Hillary’s women.

It certainly does not comport with the photos in Vogue that Annie took.

Talk about elevating the base, LMAO.....

Politics makes the strangest of bedfellows.

Those are all good ideas for photos! Anne should get on that. hmmm there's an exercise, imagine how your favorite photographer/s would photograph her...

Eggleston would be interesting. He would probably shoot her on stage with stage lighting only and the pole and work in the seedy ambience into the photo and then have a dye transfer print made and it would be brilliant.

If you're as old as me, you may remember Jayne Mansfield, another big-breasted, blonde bombshell. She didn't make porn movies, which were illegal at that time (late 1950s, early 1960s) but she did have a movie career (like Marilyn Monroe) and like Strormy Daniels, Jayne played the seedy nightclub-mens club entertainment circuit; she was a Playboy magazine favorite. And both Stormy and Jayne had or were rumored to have had affairs with presidents, Jayne with JFK (and his brother Bobby) and Stormy with Trump.

Neither are my cup of tea, but some men fall into the trap laid by BBWs like Stormy and Jayne. Like Oscar Wilde said, "Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power.”

Annie has shot all kinds of people.

It’s all the window dressing, good or bad, for Political (power) purposes that makes it amusing.

Can you imagine Annie photographing any of Clinton’s women other than Hillary or Chelsea?

But MS Daniels comes along and Annie, Tiffany, Posen beat a path to the trough with all the Me Too lipstick they can muster.

Good or bad, left or right, for better or worse, it’s a power play as old as mankind.
