Sanford
I pay about $3.50 in CA. Still too high but those price you are showing must be some remote resort somewhere. Big Sur has prices like that.

Allen Herbert
"quick take on the leica M type 240", Arthur Brilliant, what is there not to like about a M apart from the coin....does it all including vids. Buy it from a recognized trusted dealer, with a guarantee, too much coin to gamble with. A man of your esteemed age should be thinking enjoyment....buy, enjoy, be happy, and not care a monkeys about the cost. Hey, while you can still see the light, enjoy. However, it is heavy, very heavy say compared with a M8.
arthur_mcculloch2
Thanks, Allen Herbert. Am doing the sums now, and yes a reputable dealer in oz (whom I've bought stuff off before). Will let you know. My reticence is that most of my lenses are legacy (many LTM), and I think there are some issues with LTM's with adapters on the M. Anyway, doing more research. And I think I've worked out the flash underexposure problem with the monochrom - it needed a firmware update (which I've done tonite). Will test it tomorrow. Thanks again, regards, Arthur (apiarist1)
Karim Ghantous
Moon over Burrowing Owl vineyards, Okanagan, BC, Canada. M10 with Super-Elmar 21mm lens. That looks like a lovely part of the world. In the warmer months, at least. ;-) How do you find the lens's performance?
michael_levy3
That looks like a lovely part of the world. In the warmer months, at least. ;-) How do you find the lens's performance? To be honest, I don't think I have worked enough with it to answer this. It is great for street-architecture, because I can avoid parked cars. Seems to be edge-edge sharp, and it is surprisingly good close-up. One "problem" with it is that its field of view is wider than the viewfinder, so I use it with a Visoflex EVF. The Visoflex is good, no noticeable lag, useful display, good focussing aids etc. but I still prefer looking at a scene naturally rather than on a screen. BTW, I could of course use Live View, but I never take pictures that way, unless I am using a tripod.
