ray .
My friend Barry says his computer is in the shop this week, so he asked me to post the weekly Picture sharing contest. Bonus points if you took your pic with a Leica, but I have no idea what those points will get ya. Likely not anything but pride of ownership and bragging rights over those no-nothing Canon and Nikon users. Ooops, that's me, I have and use both, so never mind, you're safe, even with a Fuji. Barry wanted to be sure I didn't mess up his bookkeeping, so he expressly instructed that this is Week 12, and with that I have indeed complied, so all is right with the world. I double checked to make sure I had the right number; it's not good being out of Barry's good graces. So with that I'll quit blabbing and as Barry would say if he could be here, something like, "Come on peeps, don't be shy, show us what ya got, post 'em up, and pronto!" My pic of this '56 Plymouth was taken with a Leica M240, 35 Summicron, & converted to b&w with the help of silver efex pro. You could do it at a fraction of the cost!

arthur_mcculloch2
Ray, love the photo. A good shot - tonally rich. 'Fraction of the cost'? As one of Oz's ratbag rabid politicians would say: 'please explain'. There appears to be some serious loss of the gloss coat on that plymouth's bonnet. I am glad that 'all is right with the world', though I suspect that you are wildly optimistic on that front, or perhaps delusional. The Donald is a real worry. Anyway, my contributions are two shots taken this morning to see if my newly found debt can handle a russian jupiter 9 (f5.6, 125 shutter speed, ISO variable), with an adapter. They are both of people I accosted this morning walking dogs. Thought it did well. I enjoy this post. Look forward to other postings Arthur, apiarist1
arthur_mcculloch2
Nothing's sharp here bertliang. What to say? It's evocative, and may display the summilux bokeh, but why this image? You've posted really good shots previously... at any rate, look forward to further postings from you. This post allows no easy way to say anything critical. But, I'll ask the 'why' question: where does this shot come from, what did it mean to you. I'm sorry for being so rude, but this shot is just atypical of your previous shots, and may need a background. Not doing this really well. Norman 202
Bert’s best shots are always slightly wacky and I think this is no exception. I really like the ‘extra-terrestrial’ (yeh, i know it’s a tree) and the softness gives it a sympathetic “stranger in a strange land” feel.

arthur_mcculloch2
michael_levy, that is a good photo. Really good, balanced exposure. Held the shadows and highlights. Bravo. Uhooru, really like the tonal scale of your shot. As well as the shadowy 'watcher'. Arthur (apiarist1)

arthur_mcculloch2
Ah, there's not much activity here. Come on, let's see some more shots. Stric, that's a good photo. Reminiscent of manilla bay. Where did you take it? I think I've seen a shot on another site that echoes this spot. So, I'll post a self portrait (in the reflections). Getting used to the monochrom - so it goes. That's me in the spectacles reflections. Monochrom with 85mm lens @ probably f5.6 with flash (you can probably guess, yes, it was at the bowling club, and no doubt, getting close to pissed as a newt). A bit self indulgent. arthur_mcculloch2
Well, actually, I don't think it's me in the spectacle reflections. LOL. Arthur (apiarist1)
