Any one else doing the Russian lens thing? Waiting for a adapter for my M but meanwhile put it on my Fuji xt1. Some photos from this combination to share please join in.

Hello everyone. Allen, a "few" of us have been doing the "Full Monty" with the Russian Connection. 35mm Fed's & Zorki's with the Industar I-61 stock lens are around $70 USD delivered & they have been CLA'd. In the last 3 years I have purchased 4 & consider them excellent cameras. The Jupiter-8 is the super prime lens for these cameras and all of mine have the J-8 on them. You folks with the mirrorless cameras should also think of the Jupiter-8. USD $40-60 from Ukraine or Russian Federation, they work excellently with a less than $15 adapter. "And no picture of your excellent prize? "

Okay, a picture, Sandy.

The build quality is very similar to a Voigtlander lens and I have owned several. I think like the Voigtlander lenses the quality control is not as tightly controlled as a Leica lens or maybe a Fuji lens. So its hit and miss;I just got a lucky hit with this lens. Having said that Fuji Jpegs are unmatched so there might be a helping hand from Fuji. Focus peaking on manual lenses on my Fuji xt1 is a breeze..

The acid test will be when I put it on my M2 which I bought it for....hate having a naked camera and dislike constantly swopping lens.. Tried a Canon RF 1.8 and the flare was awful very disappointed.

Of course I could have bought another Leica lens but where would the fun in doing that.

I just ask have to ask myself is "do it all for me "so much better? Or, actually inferior.

How many times have you missed a shot because your auto focus has focused elsewhere? Or, the exposure is so off.

Have we become lazy and just want the photographic equivalent of fast food?
