attilio_dp
Just asking for opinions,
I'm having my first exhibition as well as a few Art Festivals later in the year. What are your personal preferences when it comes to display. Most will be 16x20, all B&W nature images.
Old standard, black frame off white mat or Matte Acrylic frames?
Any thoughts which way to go?
thanks
User_6502147
When I had a show some years back I used v. thin alum frames (black), cotton matts and cotton backing....even the tape was non-acidic. I was (and still am) of thought that the archival way is most presentable. My 2 cents.
Les
drew bedo
I am a bit old school, and prefer a simple balck rame and white mat for an exhibition.

For an Art Festival, hang some framed prints and bring other prints mountes and matted in plastic sleeves presented in bins.
zelph_young
Pick a good metal frame you like and use 8 ply matboard for the window mats. The thicker mat really sets off the images. Be very careful about overcuts in whatever mat material you use.
If you use "conservation framing" methods be sure to mention it in the information about the show. It adds to the worth for those who may collect your work.
IF you fear your photos really aren't very good, put something red in them. If you still think they aren't very good, put them in red frames. ;-)

Good luck on the show.
