stemked
I finally decided that I simply am not using my Pentax 67 anymore, so it's time to go. There was still some B&W 120 film in it so I had it printed. It had been in there about 4 years, still looked good though.

Monument Valley, Pentax 67 55mm

Organ Pipe Natl Monument, AZ.

Organ Pipe Ntl Mnt.
hinman
Bravo to Douglas who still shoot 120. I have reluctantly sold my 645N set as I don't shoot it enough to justify keeping it around. I have little regret but boy, it is much rewarding to shoot 645/67 than 135. The scanning part is easier if not for anything else. @Douglas, how do you develop, scan and print. Any please in particular.

I keep discussing the service in Darkroom.com but I am yet to send them a roll or two in 135 or a 120 from my Yashica Mat. Please share the development, printing, scanning parts so that we can encourage each other for the rare but critical needs in getting psyched from film -- with film, it is love of photography all over for me. It is that good on film as I can never replicate the memorable results on film no matter how hard I try on software and digital means.

And I think many Pentaxians share the same passion on films as much if not more than Douglas and Hin. Bravo to all of you who still shoot film. Douglas, what film did you use on the three posted? My favorite has always been Fuji Acros on 100 and I used to remember using 400 on Fuji in 135 but my memory may have faulted me as I can't find any Fuji Neopan Acros 400 in 120 or 135 format. My other 120 favorite on 400 stay with Kodak Tri-X 400 and I have a hard time liking Kodak T-Max400 but I do sometime shoot with Kodak Max 100. There is so much to choose from, I have learned that some unique replicating old films are slowly coming back to the market with lots of enthusiasm. One of them has linkage to Kodak Kodachrome. Hope it is not just a rumor.
hinman
It is rare that I shoot with my Pentax system as I have moved on using my lighter and more compact gear with Sony. I kept all of my Pentax critical primes and zooms but at some point, I may come to the cross roads in mixing the usage a bit to keep both for the comment. I shot these foodie pictures last night with Pentax WR DF-A 100mm f/2.8 macro and I had a fun but a very difficult time as I found the focal length a challenge in my small kitchen and I couldn't frame my shot the way a good close up lens in 24/35mm would do easily. Also a late dinner with empty stomach did not make the process any easier.

#1 Hin's Rice Stir Fry

I love garnishing with green onions. Not only is that better looking, it takes prime time on color in the photo. Picture links to my flickr picture with full exif information.

<a href=" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/361/32421127266_0b77856def_b.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="1024" />

I am always short on time and planning in cooking. I indeed love cooking but I am always in a rush. I used to enjoy going out and love shooting ordered plate as in sushi, steak, Vietnamese or Korean BBQ, and noodle dishes. Now I have to settle for my own somewhat boring cooking as it is a mix bag of Chinese fusion with americanized salad style of easy cooking. I can't kill the beast in me wanting to shoot product photos. Hope this fondness of finding new recipes and with a foodie son who craves for Michelin's 3 stars restaurants will notch me up notches for better cooking that look and taste good. I am nowhere there yet ...... Any tips and pointers to learn better cooking at home with inspiration are much appreciated.

stemked
Hin,

First many thanks for your praise. Coming from you, that means a lot to me.
I actually did it through Darkroom and I am pretty happy although the file size was smaller than I expected (1250 on the long side). Still they did a really good job.
As I stated though, sadly it will be my last 120. When I got the K1 the one thing I promised my wife is that I would start to thin out some of my camera gear. Saving up for a college fund for my little one means making some sacrifices, and this is one place that seems logical. I just don't use the 67 much anymore and I'm not a camera collector, just a user (or abuser). I still have my LX and there is a K1000 around the house so film isn't completely dead in the house.
To answer your question regarding film, I honestly don't recall what film I was using! I just boxed it up and sent it off. I was surprised I still had film in the camera.

Doug
MattB.Net
I shoot a little 120 in my 645 now and then. I develop with Darkroom.com also.
Velvia 50, Tri-X 400, and Porta 400 is what I have laying around. I also have an old Voigtlander Bessa folder that takes 120 and can be fun to shoot. A real conversation piece too.
But I shot all modern cameras this week. :)
.
Town from the nearby trails we are currently skiing on. They are bike trails in summer. hinman
@Matt, love your work as always. The first one bring home the trophy and I like your cat for halloween. Sorry that is way too scary and it tells you how good that capture is. What iso for the 3rd picture and I am sure Astro will be phenomenal to work with you in Astro Photography shooting the skies in the dark along with Luna running around for actions and the missing stick.

@film lovers, never let go your last film camera. Use it as a book divider on shelves organizer or history display of your past ownership. I will like to get back to 120 preferably with a good Pentax 6x7 II or equivalent. I also prefer to have a Hasselblad 500 cm or Rolleiflex 2.8.

Sorry to go overboard in posting on comments and photos, it is perhaps my last week in posting before I become quiet again, please bear with me in the extra posting

<a href=" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/781/32432649496_14c1675dfb_b.jpg" alt="" width="1024" height="576" />
MattB.Net
Thanks Hin. The cat photo is ISO 3200 and accidentally shot in jpeg with bad WB so mono was the solution.
brian_alworth1
I still shoot mostly 120 on old P67 and 6x7 cameras. However just got back from a trip where i was shooting sunrise shots well below zero and am now concerned as to whether the old cameras were working. Thinking i might get a Pentax K1 to use as insurance camera.
