david_simon
Can anyone tell me about this tripod. I can pick it up for $200 CDN without a head. Is that good price?
I would use it with my Manfroto 363 head and my Nikon 200-400mm and D500. I am thinking about it as a much lighter replacement to my old heavy Benbo metal tripod.
How does this CF one compare to newer Manfrotto or other CF tripods?
User_6502147
If you are serious, you'd get a support that will last you a long time (lifetime ?)....I mean 3 legs without the middle column. There are several that you can choose from and they don't have to cost $1000. But, that's up to you.
Les
c_watson1
I have the 440 version and like it. Lighter than my 055 aluminum for an all-day carry tripod. I use it mainly with a Manfrotto 322 or mid-weight ballhead for a D7200+grip+primes and mid-size medium format cameras. Price isn't bad but you might compare with pricing on the newer CF Manfrotto 190. I prefer Manfrotto for its value and access to repairs and spares other brands don't offer. Off-brand CF tripods are a crap shoot.
If possible, make sure the leg flip locks work smoothly and grip firmly. Don't believe they're adjustable.
