leif_skoogfors1
I'm archiving some 50 years worth of work, moving B&W negs from non-archival glassine envelopes to archival PrintFile Archival preservers. The negs are dry, but placed in preservers they look like they are wet. What to do?
peter_langfelder
Don't worry about it. I think you are seeing Newton rings, although I may be wrong on this.
john_shriver
Agree with Peter.
If you want the highest standard, it's the fold-lock Mylar (or other brand of polyester) sleeves, then in PrintFile Ultima pages. Mylar is the highest standard in stability, and it also won't melt onto the negatives in a file like polyethylene will.
Also, this way you aren't sliding the negatives in and out of the pages unprotected, which is a static-prone dust-attracting scratching risk.
