seung_woo_son
I am thinking about getting a new camera for this christmas and I am looking into getting a fuji x100 LE kit for about $899. Its still new in box (its just sitting in the store I work at). I can get about 20% emp discount on it too. I only heard good things about x100 series but I was wondering getting the first vr. makes any sense. I heard that the latest firmware update made this camera pretty much same as the X100s. Let me know what you guys think!
Thank you,
eskoi.pohjanpalo
Hi, yes the camera is very good after the new firmware, autofocus almost as quick as X100s. Some users say that the face tonality in X100 is better , more film-like, than in X100s or X100t, where digital feeling comes through.
gerard_bynre
Well they remain quite different cameras - the X100s has a completely different sensor, no AA filter etc etc. In terms of handling the original X100 is nice, and the firmware update did make a real difference to AF speed etc. It's a very 'friendly' camera - people don't mind being photographed with it, and its easy to carry around. Takes good pictures too. Not sure about the "LE kit' but the $899 doesn't seem such a great bargain - I bought a regular X100 for less 18 months ago when the X100s first came out.

eyal_hirsh
I have one. Good camera. Got mine for $750. The deal included a thumbgrip, spare charger, spare battery, fuji hood, and 28mm converter lens. No complaints.
andylynn
It's a bit slower than the newer models, but it's not like you're in the market for a camera like this because you want speed. If small size, manual controls and a 35mm equivalent lens appeal to you, go for it, it's a great camera. I have one and use it all the time.
benny_spinoza
Its the first and the only digital camera (other than a cellphone) that I own. The firmware updates did help. I love the camera. But considering that it was discontinued a couple of years ago, one would think that a much better bargain could be obtained, say around $500.
