I've got a new water heater, which unfortunately has a lower volume capacity compared to the previous system. I'm wondering if it can supply enough hot water to adequately wash E6 processes in the medium and longer tanks (2509 & 2553). The recommended wash flow rate should be sufficient to allows an inflow should be 2 gallon for each square foot of film<br> 35mm, perforated both side = 0.115 ft. sq. per 1 foot length.<br> 135-24 = 0.42 ft. sq.<br> 135-36 = 0.592 ft. sq.<br> Now two gallons = 7, 570ml.<br> For the 35mm 24 exp. the volume of water needed is 7570 x 0.42 = 3,100ml = 3100 ÷ 29.6 = 104 oz.<br> For the 35mm 36 exp. the volume of water needed is 7570 x 0.592 = 4,500ml = 4500 ÷ 29.6 = 152 oz.</p> <p>http://www.kodak.com/global/plugins/acrobat/en/service/Zmanuals/z119-6.pdf</p> Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But I'm still not sure if I need to take into consideration the capacity of the tanks that the film is processed / washed in. Given the ATL 1500 is a rotary processor, and is thus not designed to completely fill its tanks at any point in the process, I may not need to concern myself with tank capacity, but rather as you imply, focus on the surface area of the film to be processed as an indicator or water needs.</p> Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
