Sigma lenses work well with D7100?

<p>As the price of D7100 coming down, I am considering replacing my D90. I own more Sigma than Nikon lens now and wonder about compatibility in terms of AF in both normal and live view and OS. In particular, I have a Sigma 17-50/2.8 which I bought just a few months ago. I wrote to B&H and Sigma asking this, but no one tell me for sure whether they are 100% compatible. I may also buy the older version of the Sigma 30/1.4. I usually keep my camera for a long time so I am not too concerned if these Sigma lenses are not compatible with D7200 and up. Thanks. </p>

<p>I can vouch for the Sigma 30mm f1.4 on a D7100. It works perfectly, and the results are excellent.</p>

<p>Perhaps you can go to a store which as the 7100 and try your lens out. </p>

<p>My early (non A) 30mm 1.4 won't AF in LV on my D5100, but is OK (if inaccurate*) with conventional AF....Sigma have said they can re-chip it for ~£35.</p>

<p>I guess the D7100 wouldn't like this 'early' copy of this lens too...try it first!!</p>

I own the D7100 paired with a Sigma 17-70 c version works great:-)

<p>You must be very carefull putting anything third part with nikon ...the firmware upgrades are out to stop you .<br>

I had two D7000 with Sigma 18-200 and 18-250 ..less then 6 months old ...purchased two D7100 ...yes seemed to work ok but the LCD would not go below 60 sec on image review or anything else....sigma said it was a feature ..I said it reduced battery life to 1/3 ...sold all the sigma and bought Nikon 18-140 problem gone.. Also Neewer grips for the D7100 act up always discharging the in camera battery first but showing the shot count on the grip battery.<br>

<p>I use both the D7000 and D7100. I use several Sigma lenses on these bodies and they all work great. They include the 8-16, 17-70 C, older 50-150 (Sigma repaired auto focus), older 120-300, and 300-800. </p>

<p>Yes mike but what firmware and how did it affect the LCD?? Usable yes but I am not the only one to have problems ...why did they bring out the USB base >>>????? Yes a 10-20 worked fine and an old 17-35mm but the ones quoted did not</p>
