steve_t.1
It's a dog-eat-dog world out there...

I've got the full Nik suite, pre-Google, and as such I never bought Snapseed. But it sure looked like a neat little program for light-duty editing chores. Not anymore, not on a computer anyway. Now only for mobile devices.

http://www.popphoto.com/gear/2013/03/google-kills-snapseed-desktop-app
EricM
It was $20. It will probably show up for free in picasa soon.

Matt Laur
That's a shame. For certain things, it was a very cool little editor. Hopefully the big G will indeed simply be rolling what it does into something else, as they usually do.
frank_scheitrowsky1
Just the opposite for me. Google gave it life by making it free to use on my ipad.
twmeyer
I like the app on the phone and the desktop version is good, conceptually, but the tilt shift creates ugly artifacts, and lacks many of the better features of the mobile app.
I just wish they would revert to the original Frames options that had variable width borders. The new (mobile) frames is the most limited of the many options. In spite of that, Snapseed is my go to app for editing on iPhone/Pad in conjunction with Camera+ for capture. Next is Filter Storm.. t

EricM
Picasa web is different than Picasa desktop for editing. It makes sense to consolidate Picasa Web with G+. I'm sorry to hear though that google reader is going
