Anyone successfully download DxO optics Pro 8?

<p>I received an e-mail from DxO Optics that version 8 of Optics Pro had been released. I was anxious to see if it would be worth the $50 upgrade price by taking advantage of the free download option. Unfortunately, I have not been able to actually download it. It loads ridiculously slowly and then gives up. Then AVG treats the portion as a virus and vaults it. Anyone else try it and have a problem? BTW, my internet connection speed tonight is around 15.5 mb/sec. I have tried 5 times on two different days with the same results.<br>

<p>I had no trouble with the download - I actually ran the upgrade to 7.5.5 in parallel to the download of 8. I do agree though that anything I downloaded from DxO so far is taking its time. I'm on DSL and my normal download speed is around 2.9 Mbps.</p>

<p>I downloaded a clean install using trial version with no problems.</p>

<p>BTW, if you have had a chance to use it, do you see enough change/improvement to encourage you to upgrade over Optics Pro 7?</p>

<p>Before you upgrade, you might want to read this series of posts that put at least DxO tech support under examination and they looks bad! </p>

<p>Well after their tech support never responded again to a trial version installation problem, I didn't see any big reason to work that out to their satisfaction.</p>

<p>I sent their tech support team an e-mail when it wouldn't load and they got back to me a couple of days later. Their response was appropriate and I was able to finally get t properly downloaded and installed. I'm not sure I can justify the upgrade though. They claim some improvements, but I'm not convinced it does enough more to spend money on. More testing to follow.</p>
