Rob_the_waste
I recently went out on a bicycle run along the north shore of Lake Ontario at the east end of Scarborough. There was a footpath that went down to the water's edge, and I thought I'd take my Yashica 35 out for a few shots. There was lots of driftwood on the water's edge. Out here, renowned Scarborough Bluffs start waning off into a steep beach. Here's a couple of the shots. The Yashica 35 was the first 35 mm camera made entirely by Yashica (as best as I know) in 1958.

ben conover
Rob, that's a fair shot of Scarborough Bluffs. Driftwood is very cool, the horizon is a bit off horizontal? Nice to see what the old cameras can produce. Cheers from Ireland.
winfried_buechsenschuetz1
This encourages me to use my recently acquired Y35 very soon. BTW sometimes you can make your profit from how little today's sellers know about mechanical cameras. This one was described as 'film advance not working'. When it arrived I saw that this camera did not have a rewind-release pushbutton but a 'radio button'. And guess - it was still set to the 'rewind release' position!!! As soon as I set it to the normal position I had a fully working camera. The Y35 is solid like a rock, I have never seen such a solid rangefinder/viewfinder block. Rob_the_waste
The camera has a certain "Zeissisch" feel and look to it. The one I have was given to me by a friend from work who wanted to go digital... It works for me.

Rob_the_waste
Mihai, thanks. I've lived in the area for about ten years now. I spent a lot of weekends at work over the years, and this year, I've cut overtime out altogether. There are parks and trails down here that I never knew existed. There is still lots that I haven't seen. October is coming soon, and the salmon will be running in the creeks.
skopar
So few people actually know what a Yashica 35 is, most assume you mean a Yashica Electro 35. Nice results with your camera.
