just wore out ...

Recommended Posts

4 days of camera sorting for an estate; 75 packing boxes and over 1500 cameras and other bits. I came home with 2 boxes of stuff for myself - didn't even cherry pick, some things I just like the names or the shapes or the boxes. The most important item was the POO filter - its green. I never want to see a Kodak folder or box camera again in my life. What is a Vidax? Has anybody got one and an instruction manual?

Wow, three Vidax's in one Summer ! (yours, the one I sold recently, and one that was on ebay at the same time)
Great multi-format press camera... shoots 6x8, 6x6, and 6x4.5 in a robust, all-metal, folding rangefinder package (pronounced "tank").

Here's my thread from a short while ago :

I still have a few more rolls to develop from the Vidax. I'll post them soon enough.

As the person handling the estate sale and on the typing end of the weekend of cataloging, I agree -- I never want to see another box camera. The folders are still pretty cool even after 50 or so. You'll definitely have to post some photos of those cameras -- especially the over-priced Reid III you mention in another thread. If I get a chance, I'll post some photos of the Vidax and some of the other remaining items in the collection before I list them for sale. And let me say a big public thank you: Wiithout your knowledge of the equipment, it would have taken a month to go through all the stuff. This man knows his camera gear!
