Input appreciated!

Hi everyone, I'm an amateur photographer and am looking for some input on my website.

the goal is for it to function as a portfolio and be very simple and straightforward.

I've still got a lot of work to do as this was only developed today. However I've also

got a lot to learn about photography, so tips in that aspect would be appreciated

as well. Thank you!

The title page is nice. The categorization looks awkward, but there are too few images to suggest a meaningful categorization. The page with continue reading is redundant; anything you want to put there can go after the thumbnails on the next page. The navigation links should come at the top so I can quickly move on to other pages (especially since the images are loading too slowly).

For one day's work, it's pretty good. Keep at it!

Nice and simple layout, the way I like web pages to look.
You need an 'about' tab (or info on the home page about who you are etc) but you probably have that planned already.
Don't nest too deeply - to get to the pics you have 3 levels to navigate. A lot of people give up after 3 !

Thanks!
This is my first attempt at creating a website, so I'll have to learn more to follow through with the suggestions! I agree that the categories are awkward - as you said, it'll be easier to come up with ideas once I have more photos. I'd love to have the links at the top too, and get rid of the "continue reading" link altogether, just have to figure out how. I do have an about and contact page, however they don't show up on the category list. That would be important so all navigation is together. It only shows up when you click on a category, then it appears on the right side of the page.
Is there any reason why the images are loading slow? Do I need to reduce the image size?
Thanks again, much appreciated.

Update! After a large amount of time put in I finally think I cleaned it up a decent amount. Everything is pretty much 1 click navigation, and the suggested pages have been added. Thanks for the input everyone, and feel free to keep it coming - I'm still just learning!
edit: I still have to edit the gallery names as they aren't too accurate. Need some more pictures to distinguish differences. Any name/subject ideas would be great too.
