Hello long time 35mm, new to TLR's. Bought a Ricoh Diacord, only film exposure counter not working. Have

tryed with and without film, counter will slightly move from center then stop. Have searched net but found nothing

about this. Any ideas or guess's will be gladly excepted. Hopefully I have not bought a dud.
Thanks

David, I'm not familiar with that particular camera but could the film pressure plate possibly be in the wrong position. Some cameras of that era had adapters for using 35mm film or for taking 16 - 2.25" x 1.625" horizontal photos per 120 roll. I don't think 220 film was in use yet. My Rolleiflex T uses such an adapter. Let us know how you make out. I'm sure others will be interested in how you resolve this issue. And welcome to Photo.net. Best, LM.

There are a lot of variations between different models on these. Some TLR's have a wheel which presses against the film to control the film counter mechanism. If yours has this check that it can rotate freely and it's not slipping on the film. My own Ricohflex is not like this, you have to push a little button upwards in front of the film winding knob to release it to wind to the next frame - there is no measuring wheel.
It might help to post a picture of the winding mechanism.

I am not comfortable about opening up the camera, the only service manual I have is for the Minolta Autocord. I was told they are very similar but have wrecked cameras in the past and other than this the camera looks very good. I would hate to fumble around and do more harm.
