jackaldridge
Well Ashley...
I've had to face a similar problem.
I was asked to photograph a wedding 'in the nude' and refused until I was finally wrangled into it...
I did put in my contract that I got to keep my socks on... my feet get really cold!
john_h.1
Smear scam through impersonation, self inflicted fiasco or something in between? Maybe an effort to ask the question incognito? Troll? Typical search for such a photographer isn't yielding any results here.
denniswms
Hi Ashley
I am not quite sure the issue would ever come up. I can almost assure you it will not if you work out of your home. Word of mouth won't bring them to you. Your own press clearly will not feature fringe couples. While subjects may tolerate an a'hole employee (their perspective) if there is $ to be made from the images, family work -even the less traditional kind- they won't even consider you as a photographer if your personality traits run 180 from their own. Be up in their face about it and just start laughing.

You need never put anything in writing. Never should. If you are put in a position where you book a meeting and two males show up, be brutally honest. Ask who will be wearing the dress. These days there are soo many ways to offend people without even trying. Two guys getting married affords a bottomless pit of material. It is not as if your preferred clientele will care if the gays don't love you.

Easiest way if you feel compelled to explain yourself- but far less entertaining- is to just say "I have zero experience shooting same sex couples, no connection to your reality, and I have no idea what you'd want or how to achieve it"

You are not a diner. Just say "I'm not interested in working for you". I do it all the time.

joshroot
I think that is quite enough for now.

Thanks for playing folks. Remember, the troll's late show is completely different from the early show. But leave the kids at home, it gets a little "blue".

Back to photography.
