nicholas_sumner
I'm a pro snapper, my my website has been up for about a year and I am dismayed at its poor performance on Google. Part of my income is from wweddings but when the search term 'Wedding Photography Halifax Nova Scotia' (my town) is entered into Google my homepage doesn't show up on the first ten pages (I'm not sure where it places, after 10 pages I gave up , though my recommendations page shows up on page 8.
The website wasn't cheap to build but the people who built it are at a loss to explain why. Before I drop another wad of cash on a completely different website developer I wonder if anyone here would take a look at it and tell me what they think.
www.nicksumnerphoto.com
yi_chen
Nicholas,
I like how simple and clean your website is. Here are some of my thoughts on user experience:

When I click a menu item on the left, the whole page will be refreshed, and during the time the menu will also disappear. It would be nice to separate these two parts, so when I click a menu item, only the right pane is refreshed, and I still remember which item I just clicked.

There is a right arrow under the images. Originally I thought it was clickable or draggable, but it seems I still need to go to the horizontal scroll bar to scroll. From UX, it is causing some un-needed mouse actions.

The animation effect of the menu on the left. If I mouse-over one menu item, the submenus will show up. Then I move down to the next menu item, the expanded submenu items will disappear, but when that happens, my mouse is not over the item I wanted to click on. Extra effort needed to move the mouse. I prefer stable/fixed menu.

Hope this is helpful. -P
