Sanford, yes, it's close to 500mm (have to buy an AF-S 500/4 to compare ;-). The neat V1 works not too bad with longer lenses, but optical flaws like longitudinal CA's are elevated by the high pixel-density. Focusing is tricky too with manual lenses.<br>

But I really have to reverse my thoughts about the Nikon 1 system. At first I thought it's just another gadget for coffeehouse-bloggers, barely adequate to snap some pics of the latte macciato standing next to an iPad. Sorry, Nikon, I really like the V1 now, it has some serious flaws, but it makes a nice companion for easy-going photo-trips.</p>
