Pentax 67 battery check light non-functional.

I have recently acquired a Pentax 67 with TTL viewfinder.
The camera is in good to very good condition.
I have installed a fresh 28L 6V battery.
The metering needle works nicely and its measurements agree with other cameras.
However, pushing the "Battery Check" button does NOT turn the related light on. The contacts seem to be clear (and the meter works).
I have not yet run a film.
Is it OK to run the camera in this condition?
Thanks :)

Only one way to find out, by actually going out and shooting a test roll.
If the light meter readings agree with what you see on other cameras - thats a GOOD sign. That means the light meter circuit is getting the voltage it needs, and that the components in the light meter circuit are still good - still working the way they should.

You can always pick up a battery tester from someplace like Radio Shack. That will give you some indication of the remaining 'juice' in any battery.

It is wise with any electronically controlled shutter camera, to always carry an extra battery. Even when the batt test light works. These batts can die suddenly and quite often do, especially in the cold. I set a medium format camera on the roof of a car once at around 20 degrees F. The battery being in the camera's base ,died virtually instantly from the cold.

Thank you all!
The light started to work somehow mysteriously!
Perhaps the result of my repeated attempts after years of sitting still.
The first roll of film has been run afterwards; let's see what happens!

I have a similar problem, except that neither the light meter nor the battery light respond. I just put in a brand new battery. Anybody got an idea of what I may be missing? I had used the camera for years. However, it has been in my camera bag untouched for a few years. The battery contacts are clear and clean. Any suggestions?
