Civil War Fair

Recommended Posts

Today I went out to the Civil War Days in Glenview, IL. Never been to anything like that. Last year I was supposed to attend WWII reenactment, but the show got canceled. so this year I was pleased to find out that just 3 min drive from my house theres gonna be a civil war fair. Even though I didn't stay long enough to witness the battle I was pleased with this whole thing. I took some shots with my Yashica 635 but will have to wait for the film to come back from processing.
I would recommend this type of experience to anyone. Here is a link to the shots I took. I am not asking for comments or critique just sharing my experience, so please moderators do not delete my post if at all possible.

Yes, Civil War Re-enactments can be very entertaining as well as educational, and as a bonus for those of us with a camera, some unique photo opportunities.
Beware of the modern plastic water bottles, ziplock storage bags and the Nike shoes to ruin a good authentic looking shot!
When you see that guy in the middle of the action in authentic dress with the period box camera . . . well he's usually got a DSLR mounted inside. That's when you can really have some fun!
You should have stayed for the "battle" part of the re-enactment. Trying to catch those "smoke rings" from the Cannon fire is fun. You never know when they will happen!

00Wvh2-262927684.jpg.fac11771087fd19cc150cadffcd433ed.jpg
