Is this the right teleconverter for Pentax lenses?

<p>As some you may know, I am looking for a TC for DA* lenses, and, assumably, FA and DA as well.<br>

Here's one fellow who answered to my queries and mentioned that he has this for sale:<br>

<strong>Tamaron-F AF-Tele-converter 1.4X N-AFd MC4</strong><br>

There's surely a typing mistake in "Tamron" which read "tamaron", but assuming the spelling is of no consequence, would this TC fit with the lenses mentioned above?<br>

Any help would be appreciated.<br>

<p>Based on the N-AFd bit, I'd suspect it's for Nikon AF-D lenses.</p>

<p>I don't know about that one, Jacques. The one I have which works with those lenses (as well, it turns out, as the Sigma HSMs) is the <strong>Tamron-F AF TELECONVERTER 1.4x Pz-AF MC4</strong> .</p>

<p>The spelling of "Tamaron" may be of no consequence but it's disconcerting because getting the rest of it right is <em>critical</em> .</p>

<p>The Pz part means it has the two little contacts just inside the mount opening, which were originally designed to accomodate the Pentax power zoom lenses. Now those contacts also serve to provide AF function for Pentax SDM lenses.</p>

Just got a message back from the seller and it is indeed a Nikon mount, the "N" being a give away, but I wasn't sure.<br>

Well, back to searching for a Pentax compatible Tamron TC now.<br>

Tamron-F Pz-AF MC4 1.4x both SDM & AF works for DA*300mm as per Toshi, moderator of Pentaxforums.com.<br>

Tamron-F Pz-AF MC4 1.4x both SDM & AF works only 10% of the time for DA* 50-135mm but hunts a lot re Miserere<br>

Tamron-F Pz-AF MC4 1.4x with the Sigma 70-200mm -new with HSM . The HSM AF works. It really didn't work all that well indoors at night according to Dave Hollander of Photo.net<br>

Kenko DG Pz-AF 1.5x TELEPLUS MC no AF no SDM on DA*300mm re Dave (photo.net)<br>

Kenko DG Pz-AF 1.5x TELEPLUS MC AF works on older AF lens re Dave (photo.net)<br>

Kenko Pz-AF 1.5x TELEPLUS SHQ both AF & SDM works for DA*50-135mm but it does hunt quite a bit and often fails to lock focus according to heliphoto of Pentaxforums ; Buddha Jones of Pentaxforums not happy with its result ;</p>

Daniel, just a question. Does the SHQ version of Kenko work fine with K20D and DA*300?<br>

I've read somewhere that could be some problems and the body could not recognize the lens when the teleconverter is mounted. Is it possible?</p>
