Skydiving shoot

Been asked to do promotion for a charity skydive and the logical thing for me would be to shoot as much of the whole day as possible. I dont jump out of serviceable aircraft as a personal rule but I would like to shoot the guys before and as they exit the aircraft.
Does anyone have any experience of shooting such stuff?
What issues do I need to think about from a photography / logistics point of view? I presume a wide angle lens is going to work best - do I want to / can I use flash inside the aircraft? That sort of thing ?

My brother & I were both in National Guard Special Forces Group. Both landed in trees once or twice taking photos on way down! With Instamatics in those days! But we were jumping from about 1250 feet off terra firma! Not 2,00 of 5,000 or 10,000!
Anyways...get the people suiting up, getting into the plane, in the plane, and, getting ready to exit the plane, ie. jumping out of a perfectly good airplane -while flying! Get those facial experssions from beginning to end. Look for those good lighting situations as wwhen morning sunlight is coming in through the hangar or window and lighting up one of the jumpers or even a few. Keep your eyes and photo mind wide open.
Look for detail shots of the people, equipment and the plane all relating to skydiving. I'm sure the old timers will be able to show theireogos and 'toughness' through some funny antics and poses. In the Army there was a joke that someone misplaced a dummy chute - just filled with pillows. Hopefully not mixed in with the real ones! Andin jump school we had to go to church the Sunday before Jump Week - the 3rd and final wk of school!
sounds like fun. Have a good time. And...try it yourself sometime. Great experience.
Oh, wide angle, like 17-55 would be great. Also would be nice to have a 300-400 on tripod set up on the ground to get some shots- by a helper if you are in the plane - of jumpers exiting the plane. coming down, and landing.
Ask the pilot about use of flash - just don't use it on him/her.

Mark,
Skydive and surf are my favorites sports. Well, I suggest you a wide angle to capture the aircraft exit, but if you jump (and i suggest you to do that or hire someone to get photos, its not expensive) or a fish eye in case of freefly and positions like headdown.
If you need some cameras man suggestions let me know where you will jump.
