claudio farkasch
Hi,
i have been doing e6 and c41 and b+w home processing for a while now. I use the kodak e6 5l kit. I always thought it was hard to mix that stuff for smaller amounts, say 250ml. So I had the idea of using some medical needles to do very precise measuring.
Did any of you tried this and do you think that the steel needles migth interact with some chemicals, and would you clean them. or is it enough to take up some water and push it out again and do this several times?

maybe soem of you have some answers for me.
by the way i use a jobo atl-1000 and do mostly 120 slideflms

thanks
claudio
james_lai
I do the same but I just use the plastic syringe without the needle.
randrew1
Removing the needles, per James's suggestion, would be the best approach. None of the solutions will be damaged by clean needles. The needles will be corroded by the bleach. If you keep the contact time short and rinse them afterwards, you can probably get away with it for awhile. Eventually you will have rusty needles that might affect the developers.
aaron_muderick
I use oral syringes (no needle). It works great and allows me to mix exactly what I need with no mess and very minimal cleanup.
I use a single syringe and fill my jars in order. Each chemical is designed to allow some level of contamination from the previous step. As long as you wash out the syringes fairly well with pumping water, and go in order, you'll have no problem.
