xander_xander
Hey guys, I'm the proud owner of an xl2. Course, its a bit of a headache, love it though I do.

Right now Im having an image issue. I need some expert advice.
Basically I have no knowledge of the terminology for this, so I couldnt really search pre asked threads.
I have an image where my blue carpet for example, has purple haze on one edge and a green haze on the other, up against my cream walls in my corridor.
Likewise it is on many objects, if I go out of focus, you can really see the line grow, its not noticable to begin with, but as you train your eye on it, it becomes evident on every things edges. all objects are green on the left and purple on the right.
has one of my prescious ccds slipped slightly? or can I fix this without sending it off?

any help would be much appreciated.

-xander
matthew_newton
Its called Chromatic Aberation and it is caused by the light passing through the lens elements to not focus at same spot (different spectra are bent differently). CA could be caused by a lens element knocked lose possibly, but my best guess would be it is just inherant to the camera.
lex_jenkins
As Matthew noted, it sounds like CA. Very common problem, even with some expensive lenses. There are digital editing tools available to fix this easily in processing.
