uccemebug
A question for studio photographers of jewelry. On various websites with photographs of rings (such as Tiffany), you often see photos which make it appear that the ring is standing free of any supports. Typically the ring in such a photo has a shadow, but you don't see a shadow for any supports or wires. Is this done in Photoshop, or are there tricks to this done in the studio? Thanks, Michael
peter_daalder
After addressing a similar topic in this thread I now use these pages as my default reference guide to this kind of subject matter. anthonyd
Most likely done in photoshop. However, you could try a small amount of something like "Quake Hold" on the bottom of the ring to stand it up.

scott_mains
I have used a small ammount of adhesive glue on products like rings. For shadowless images, a small lightbox is also useful
