mfpow
I've spent a couple days putting together this site using my .mac account. It was really cheap, which is what I was looking for, but now I want to know if it looks too amateur. I guess Im looking for feedback on all aspects of the site, so if your interested, let me know your thoughts.www.mattpowersphotography.comThanks!Matt
karen_lippowiths
Matt: The site looks very nice -- clean and easy-to-navigate design. Your work is also very nice. One small suggestion: you offer visitors to download the images in your gallery section. When I do so, the image downloads and proceeds to immediately open in Photoshop (at least on my computer -- not sure how this works for others). That seems like a blatant "STEAL ME" advertisement and I wold think you would want to protect against this. Otherwise, looks good :) Karen
mfpow
Thanks Karen! I hadn't noticed the offer to download. I got rid of it.
jpuckett
Matt your site looks great...clean and easy to nav.. Nothing at all to fret about. When you build your own site things tend to all be in question. I think it looks great. JP
jpuckett
Ah Karen what do you mean by invite people to download images from Matthews gallery..his web gallery or his Photo.net gallery and could you explain?
photomark
One thing that caught my attention was the tear-sheet of the cover of San Francisco Magazine from February 2008--did you shoot the cover image? The copy suggests your image(s) appeared in the magazine in an story unrelated to the cover, but including the cover, tear-sheet style, implies it's your work. If I'm an art-buyer/editor, this is a red flag for me. If this is your image, you should be clear about it.
karen_lippowiths
Hi John: It doesn't seem to be there any longer, but when I initially checked the site yesterday, there was a 'download' button next to the image gallery. When you clicked on it, the image would download onto my desktop and Photoshop would immediately open with the image (at nice, big dimensions just ready for the taking). Looks like Matt removed it :) Karen
