Book Clubs

Hi Jay, I was a member of a book club years ago, the thing I didn't like was I had to reject their selection before it was sent, nor did I like the minimum purchase.

The part I did like was their selections were pretty good, prices fair.

I like sites like www.alibris.com, there you can find out of print books of all subjects, not just what is currently published and available at a bookstore or a club. You can find an 1823 edition copy of Frankenstein for 40 grand, or on my to buy list is:

"Internationally acclaimed photographer Lee Friedlander presents a sumptuous book of exquisite black-and-white portraits and scenes featuring jazz and blues musicians of New Orleans, taken between 1957 and 1974. At once highly objective and deeply intimate, the photos capture the complex humanity of creators of jazz and blues--the very spirit of the music of New Orleans. 92 photographs."

Or you could spring $2410 for a signed 1st edition of:

Adams' used book

I've ordered a few books, packing and shipping are impeccable, this is a nice way to build a library that will be an heirloom, fun to create, and it will never crash.
