kathleen_crane
Hi, I just bought a 503Cxi in good condition. I've been playing around with it, dryfiring, toying with the lens, trying to learn some of the functions, but I seem to have done something and I can't figure out how to undo it. For some reason I can't get the shutter release (front right button) to fire. The darkslide has been removed, so I don't know what the problem is. Also, I'm finding the lens configuration to be very counter intuitive. I have the 80mm T* lens. I can't get the VXM lever to move to the M position. I'd also like a guide as to setting the aperture/shutter speed, since they seem to be coupled and aren't able to be set independently. The manual wasn't much help. Thanks! erie_patsellis
Are you at the 12th exposure? you can remove the insert and it will reset the counter. Why would you want to set the sync to M? most likely the previous owner had it modfied so you can't, a good thing in most people's opinion. Good enough that the CF lenses eliminated the selector (and the V self timer) altogether.
q.g._de_bakker
Kathleen,<br><br>Look inside the 500C manual you can find <a href="http://www.hasselbladhistorical.eu/HW/HWVSys.aspx" target="_blank">here</a>. It explains how to operate the "C" lens in detail.
antonio_garcia_russell
Kathleen, <p> It is possible that your camera has jammed - this is a know issue with Hasselblads. If having exhausted the suggestions above you still have a problem, have a look <A HREF="http://cesarigd.club.fr/photoe2b.htm"> here </A>.

tarashnat
Once the back gets to the last exposure, you cannot fire the shutter until you reset the back by removing the insert (partially should do the trick), this is assuming you have no film in the camera. q.g._de_bakker
<i>"this is assuming you have no film in the camera."</i><br><br>When you do, the mechanism wokrs the same, but you have to wind the trailer round the roll of film before you open the back to reset the counter (and take out the film).<br>;-)
bill_palmer2
No, no, it isn't strictly necessary to roll the trailer around the film before opening the back, but doing so provides much better image contrast between highlights and shadow detail :-)
