joseph_wei Posted December 27, 2007 Share Posted December 27, 2007 I believe it's a fast-focus peg (not a very useful one, since it's a bit too short), similar to quick-focus levers on TV and other camera lenses. By grasping the peg, you can turn the focusing ring faster and further than simply gripping the rubber ring. I know Kowa and Hasselblad sold similar accessory pegs for their lenses.
