50-135mm 2.8 $799 at B&H

14mm 2.8l

Recommended Posts

Well the last time I posted a link like this B&H sold out within 12 hours of 16-

50mm 2.8 and now you have to special order it.

This one is in stock and $200 under list! BETTER Get it while they got it as it

may be a pricing error...

I'm passing on this one too, but hopefully Pentax will issue 200 f2.8 or 300 f4

before long so I can get some new glass from them too.

It just came onto their system. They had no slot for it yesterday. I look at B&H almost daily for Pentax & Eos digitals and pentax and canon brand glass as the prices do rise and fall.

As I have the 50mm 2.8 macro and a 105mm 2.5 macro and I never shoot in the rain and I have no sdm body to take advantage of its quiet lens motor so I'm passing it bye-bye.

Who knows how many they have?

Its a legit item, genuine pentax, you could read about it and $999 price at pentax usa website.

When pentax releases the 200mm 2.8 or 300mm f4 I'll let you'll know after I confirm my order. I think I have to wait for the delayed release of 60-250mm first, another lens I'll likely pass on. Hopefully by next spring I'll get to buy some glass for my $499 K10D ;^)

Suspect it was a pricing error:

I've had the opposite with Tri-State. They listed my Sigma 20mm EX in stock for months (this was around 2004/2005). I ordered on the web, next day I get a call. They don't have the lens. But for an additional $30 they can track one down for me. Hmm? $30 is still at or below the next best price and they told me it would ship the next day, so I did it.

The lens arrived so I guess all is well. But I believe the prices were intentionally listed lower than they were willing to sell.

Also, living in NY I've dealt with all these shops in person. Don't remember much about tri-state other than they never had what I needed even if it was listed as in stock. Cambridge was the worst. And Smile (i think they are gone), despite the awful reviews, always had what I needed (in person) and rarely pushed me into buying some absurd package.

Well its not only $200 more but its also out of stock. Took 48 hours to disappear. I just did a B&H pentax digital lens search and you'll now find most of the pentax brand digital lenses are also out of stock.

One week to go and Canon should announce their new items like 40D and in 6 weeks Canon launches their winter rebates, which are always their best of the year.

I was really considering 3 or 4 pentax lenses before the September 31st rebates ended, but as you likely know Pentax requires all rebate items to bought at once and on one receipt. Everything I was considering is out of stock...
