Wanted: Cheap 120mm Film Developing+Prints in New York

Recommended Posts

Hello out there!

Does anybody have an idea, where in New York I could get my 120mm film roll processed (and

cross-processed) with prints? Are there any >affordable< labs or retail labs that actually do this?

After some research online, I found Ben Ness near Union Square, where developing is 3.99 $ and

each print 0.95 $. Does that sound good? Today I went to a lab where developing + prints would

have been 42 $ in total :(( Well.. Since I'm new at 120 films I have no clue what prices to expect.

Does Target do 120 films? I'd be very thankful if anybody had a hint for me :)

Take care and thank you,

Julia

Hello Julia: There is virtually nothing in NYC which is any good that is cheap. The rents are just too high. I do not know the lab you mentioned but would be surprised if they were any good at all at that price. Adorama has a cheap lab on the premises, and sometimes they do a passable job--sometimes they don't.

Best deal around is Fuji processing: $1.80 for negs developed AND 16 3x5 prints. Excellent quality too. Where you ask? I hate to say it, but thru and Walmart in the USA. Just put the 120 roll in the film sendout envelope, and mark the Special Instructions box at the bottom. Put "120 (or 220) C-41 print film. 2 week special service. 3x5 matte (or glossy) prints". In about a week you will have your negs and prints back.

However, they dont do cross processing.

Oh ya, 120 OR 220 slide for only $4.88!!!!

Hmm.. Thank you so far! Right now I think I might just take my rolls back to Germany

where they develop and print for less than 5$ and the quality is excellent (believe it or not

*!g*). It's amazing when you see how prices change from one country or city to another..

At least clothes and electronics are far less expensive here in America ;)

  • 3 weeks later...

develop and print for less that $5! amazing. i heard europe was insanely expensive for this kind of stuff.

another vote for sams club or wallmart. send out processing for C41 is 50 cents. my local sams does it in house in 2o min. for 1.50!
