daniel_foust
I have a roll of Advantix film that got processed but the printing machines keep rejecting. Is this a common problem? Was it caused by my camera of the film processor? How can I get prints at this point?
robert himmelright
this doesn't make much sense. The printing machine could be "rejecting" the roll for a number of reasons or causes, if it says something like magnetic read error, usually you just manually enter the FID it sucks the film back in then you print like normal. carl_klitzke
At my lab we have, in addition to the aps "auto" carrier, a carrier mask for our "multi" carrier which can accept aps film. Since it is on a frame-by-frame basis, though, it will not read the magnetic coding which means that you will have to specify print size, qty, etc instead of letting the mag strip do it. randrew1
Not all APS cameras have magnetic write capability. In fact, the majority of APS cameras sold had no ix feature (especially if you consider the one-time-use APS cameras). The lack of magnetics should not be a problem. You probably need a different lab.
aramat57
The first thing I thought of was the little break away tab on the cartridge. Sometimes the auto extractor doesn't break that tab, so the printing mask thinks it is an undeveloped roll. Check the bottom of the film cartridge for the small rectangular tab and make sure it has broken.
