szrimaging
Ummm....... Depends on the needs. Google Piscia. Photoshop Elements. Yeah, there are a ton of programs. How advanced? How much editing? What kind of editing? Basically, go hunting through the Digital Darkroom forum, all your questions will be answered there.
emre
Google Pisces, Pescada... something like that.
steve torelli
You don't need Photoshop. If you want to shoot in RAW and develop your files to your liking, there are any number of programs that will do that. Adobe Lightroom is a very good one and much cheaper than its cousin PS2. If you want to create pictures of things that nobody ever saw through a viewfinder, you're gonna need Photoshop for that. Good luck.

seven
The free editing programme from Google is Picasa
whinterberger
While I use Photoshop for fine tuning ( as much as I understand of it) , I very much recommend Picasa as a good basic tool and it costs nothing.
whinterberger
BTW , Seven ,the link you provided does not take you to the official PICASA site. It just seems to be somebody's personal endorsement of the software. Unfortunately, they misspell the name a number of times ...;)
