printing calendars

Recommended Posts

I thought I would print myself up a calendar. Maybe send some off for family

gifts.

I would like to make the sort that have several pages stapeled together on the

middle. I would us 11x17" paper and fold it down the middle after printing.

Can anyone recommend freeware or "payware" that will allow me to chose or edit

day layout, maybe add some lunar symbols, holidays... it must be flexible in

styles and layout.

and of course I'll need to add photos!

It would have to be able to print out each sheet (double sided) so that when

stacked and folded the calendar is in proper order and upside right on each

page.

Any recommendations?

I do calendars for friends and family as well. I just use Epson's Double-sided Heavyweight Matte paper and get it spiral bound at Staples.

For the dates, the Calendar templates available with Microsoft Word offer some decent options, and then you can add in whatever other text you'd like.

Do you want to print it yourself? It would appear that you do, but there are commercial alternatives that might work for you. If so, consider Lulu, VistaPrint, and of course just about all the online services such as WalMart, KodakGallery, Walgreens, and MPix will do calendars as well. Everybody is doing them, it seems. I had Lulu do a bunch of calendars for me to sell not that long ago. It was relatively inexpensive, and the calendars came out nicely.

If you're talking about printing them on your own printer, then I don't have any suggestions for you, unfortunately.

Thanks for all your answers.

I will look into MS Word as an option.

I am still unsure whether printing myself will be cost effective. A local print outfit here in Vancouver will do a few hundred at about 7 dollars Canadian each. If I can get my supply cost down to about $3 each I'll do it myself.

Its probably easier and cheaper to go to one of those shops that does it like "jessops picture house" "truprint" or "asda" you can get quite a good quality calendar for a reasonable price, Dan ps. and if it isn't any good, then you are eligible for a re-fund!
