mattalofs
In years past it seems like we have done a "Your Best of XXXX" (note that's not XXX ;-) W/NW thread. This is kind of fun way to recap your year and see how you've changed as a photographer. On Friday, I'll start a W/NW Your Best of 2006 thread, so start going through your achrives and get a few shots ready to post. I hope to see everyone there.

A contender?

olliesteiner
Matt, That is a wonderful portrait of your lovely wife. The cheekbones and lips are beautifully sculpted by the light. You captured the best kind of portrait expression that invites the viewer to imagine the thoughts and feelings behind the subject's eyes. I have a feeling that the composition would be slightly improved by cropping off a little bit of the top and left side, so as to move the head a little"northeast" within the frame. What do you think? jack_lo_..._t_o
Sheesh, I jumped the gun. However, Brett has made a good point. Perhaps after the 1st when the exiles have returned....
nels
Matt,
I did this last year on Dec. 29, and afterwards, still felt that I should have waited for the year to be officially over and allow for last minute surprises to be captured and processed by people. mattalofs
Hmm, good point, I guess a lot folks will still be gone. OK. Not this Friday then. Let's do this on Jan. 7. That work for everyone?
mattalofs
Ollie, that's a good point. This file needs reworking anyway as it has some not entirely cleaned off water spots down in the corner. Larry and Derek, those are great. The school girl is a hoot with her uniform and proud stance, although she kind of looks like she'd be trouble in a classroom.
