andre_reinders
HAL arrived safe and sound in Calgary on Sept 13. I decided to show HAL around and feed him a roll of colour and a roll of B/W. The colour is done, and the B/W is almost done. We went for a walk in our neighbourhood with the kids, drove around a little, and went to the zoo. http://www.anycities.com/reinders/share/hal/colour/ I hope to have the b/w roll finished by the end of the weekend. And HAL should ship out next week sometime.
pensacolaphoto
Great work, Andre! There is some flare in some of the photos and the colors look a little unreal in others. This must be a feature of our Hal. I like the presentation of your work. Who will be next in line to receive Hal?
andre_reinders
I believe you are next Raid. Thanks for the comments :)
jim_mcbride
Andre: I am amazed to see so much biodiversity that far north of the Arctic Circle.
andrea_ingram
Hal is doing the business still I see. He MUSt be having a great time. Maybe we ought to group all these posts together! Anyone know how to so that. Anyway, well done Andre and all the other hosts of HAL. Grand job.
pensacolaphoto
I am looking forward to using Hal here in Pensacola, Florida. Hopefully, we will not have another hurricane by then.
nancy_bueler
Andre, you've done very well with Hal. It looks like he had fun playing with the kids, and he enjoyed his visit to the zoo; I hope he wasn't afraid of the elephants! It's nice to see the trees changing; ours our just starting to change a bit here. We know Hal does very well with reds and now I see he also does just as well with yellows. It looks like there is a light leak somewhere; did the back close tightly after the film was loaded? I seem to remember thinking it was a bit loose, so I kept the black case on at all times, which seemed to hold it tight. I can't wait to see what Hal can do with B&W. roseberry guitars
Thanks for the photos Andre. I basically grew up in Calgary, lived there 20 years! So it's always great to see how the city is doing. I lived most of the time about two blocks from that church. Ah...the memories.... Nice job with Hal too. grahams
Very nice, Andre. I agree with Raid that the colors are a little strange, not over-saturated but somehow intense. Rather appealing. Some nice architecture you have there.
pensacolaphoto
Is the goal to use Hal to take local photos of our home towns, or can we use Hal for any type of photography?
Andrew in Austin
Hello, those are a great photos from HAL. I'm glad to see the camera is holding up. As to what to take photos of, I was searching for that perfect shot of Elvis when I had Hal. Best Regards - Andrew in Austin, TX
nancy_bueler
Raid, I was always under the impression that, for the most part, Hal should take pictures of where you live, and he should go where you go, see who you see. This way, the rest of us get a little glimpse into other cities, other countries. At least, that's what I tried to do when he visited me here in Toronto. What other types of photography did you mean? pensacolaphoto
Nancy, I have two little girls, so I am taking lots of photos of them. I was unaware if including photos of them would be suitable or not. I am thinking of taking Hal with me in a tour of Pensacola and the beaches too. silent1
Andre, I'd guess you're just slashdotted, but while the page you link loads, none of the images do at this time... :(
andre_reinders
Donald - I have seen this before. Can I assume you run the Norton Internet Security product? If so, disable it to see the photos. I don't know why Norton doesn't like anycities.com.
