________1
Have a look-see at my <a href="http://www.jamiejenkins.ca">new website. </a>This is a very simple php style photosite. I like it because you can haul images in and out without any re-coding. The code can be found <a href="http://www.zinkwazi.com/wp/scripts">here.</a>
Uhooru
Many very good images there Jamie. I'm not so partial to the kid ones, but its nice to see some very intersting yet crisp shots. I wish I had some more thoughts about sequencing etc. But nice simple site to get on and into the pics with. You guyz should check it out.
steve_west
well done. the old dear in the cafe is still my fav. aquarium is nice too. and #24.
jenna_g
Like the pictures Jamie. Slideshows are cool! Was it easy to build? I've been so imtimidated by the process of building a site that I've avoided it altogether. I want something simple that I can expand later. Something where it's easy to add or delete as the site grows.
jukka_lehmus
I found your dolphin and kimono shots very pleasing.
________1
Jenna, check out the second link. No building necessary. You just upload two text docs and then throw a bunch of photos in the directory with them. That's it.
michael s.
Several excellent photos there, and I also appreciate your linking the "recipe."
leslie_cheung
Very nice site especially the simplicity. I would make the duration between the photos a bit longer (5-10 seconds perhaps) for the slideshow. Thanks for sharing!
leslie_cheung
I mean the slideshow is going a bit too fast. I would like to see each photo abit longer.
over exposure
ditto slower slideshow, but after all you can click each picture to make the thing going manually, without slideshow. ..you have a good eye, I've seen many jewels shine there. Wait to see more shots, keep 'em coming. ciao!
m_.
excellent, jamie. love these shots.

ray .
Nice to see it all together. I like your work Jamie. I'd edit out #17, and frankly the old woman creeps me out, but other than that, very nice. Thanks for the 2nd link, going to check it out.
lancemcvay
Great shots. The old lady is my favorite of the bunch.
________1
Thanks so much for the input. I have to give some serious thought to editing all my stuff. What I've done here is more or less grab the first forty images from a folder and edit down from there. I'll see if I can find the bit in the code that slows the show down, or just delete that altogether and let people click their way through. The programmer is a photographer too, so if you use his template be sure to send him a note saying hi and a link to your site.
jenna_g
Definitely keep the photo of the old lady. She's classic! If I had had to edit I would probably cut 5, 13, 15, and maybe 21. I know you have a lot of nice shots I don't see there. Can you only do 25? As far as editing goes, I'm finding it difficult myself. Picking my favorite 10 or 15 is fairly easy, but narrowing down the others is pretty difficult. Don't know if I should go by those others have liked, or perhaps some I'm partial to that have not generated much response. I would like to start with about 50 or 60 I think. ________1
Jenna, I don't think there's any limit to the number of images it will run. It seems to show the photos in the reverse order in which they're uploaded. Last uploaded file becomes image number one. I'm sure all this can be customized. It's just the way the template behaves straight out of the box.
johnny massey
Jenna, perhaps if you're editing for your own site then you should indulge yourself, it says something about you. If you are editing for a show (and trying to sell prints) then pay heed to others tastes, perhaps put together a committee of not just photographers. I have to say that if I were wealthy enough I would be throwing money at you for prints. Johnny.
arond a.
J- Some savvy shots. Favorites: Tina Turner shirt; Saint behind fence; Starbucks camera girl; Dear God tattoo. Some wry stuff. A couple seem... out of place. For example, cute macro shot of the kid's face. ? Asian woman seems to lack the punchiness of some of the others. Skull graffitti and color graffitti wall, as well. I wouldn't mind seeing more pics posted. Perhaps even a few albums? You're onto something, I think.
jenna_g
Hi John, Thanks for the kind words! I've wanted some type of site up for awhile. Eventually it *might* be more than just a place to show off a few photos, but for now that's what it will probably be. As for paying heed? It's interesting to see how different people look at Jamie's pictures. My favorites are the old lady, the street sign, the shot of the musician between two people, and the closeup of the boy. correfoc
Very nice pics, clean navigation, and thanks for posting the link to the txt files. As for editing, figure out the ones you like the best, but save the rest. (Although ya have to pay attention to your significant other's opinions, right! Keep the peace.) Your tastes and favorites will be different in a month than they are now; easy enough to update, right?
berg_na
Your page is simple and elegant, I like the way it looks. Question: I uploaded to my personal webpage, the phpslideshow.php and template.htm files, in a folder that contains some images, but when I open phpslideshow.php with IE, I just get the contents of the file, not the images! I must have missed something here...
________1
The server you upload to must have the PHP server software running on it. Send an email to the tech folks who adminster your server and ask.
