leicaglow
I recently bought (for cheap) a near mint Argus with the Art Decodesign on front and back. What a beautiful little camera. Anyway, before I ruin any film, I wondered if you could help me withsome issues: 1. What is the proper method of setting the frame counter back tozero? I assume I can click until it goes back to zero, but I alsoassume the film take-up would require a few clicks. Any suggestions? 2. My biggest question is with the focus. The focus seems to go pastthe infinity mark and back around to the 1.5' mark. Is this normal oris the focus off on mine? 3. Any hints on using the funky depth of field or exposure guage onthe top of the camera, next to the finder? I probably don't need it,but it's quite odd. Thank you in advance for your advice! leicaglow
Should have mentioned: this is an Argus A2F with 50mm f/4.5, ca 1941.
j.ed_baker
You can download a booklet detailing the operation of this camera here: http://theargusa.com/ The exposure meter is/was the extinction type. Unfortunately on most meters of this type the gauge strip is either missing or fogged to the point of being unusable. I don't remember if the focus has a stop at infinity or not.
