mg
To underline what Jayme is trying to say in the present thread, I would like to invite you all to see this discussion on a photo page: http://www.photo.net/photo/1302570 God (and Vincent K. Tylor too!) knows, that Vincent K. T. has never been my best friend on this site, and we had numerous issues together so far. Vincent told me a couple of times that my intentions on this site were abusive, that I was being unnecessarily harsh, nasty, etc. Can you imagine much worse...? Well, a couple of days ago, as I read the follow-up on my past comments page, I saw this picture and discussion had popped up again. I clicked on the picture's link and I had a very nice surprise - perhaps one of the nicest and most unexpected surprises I ever had on photo.net. You'll see it at the end of the comment page under Vincent's photo. Vincent finally posted some sort of "thank you" about a harsh critique I had posted almost a year earlier, and which got us into some kind of argument. I think it's just great. Even if it takes a year or more for someone to see what a critic meant, and to see the value of a critique, at least I'm glad I did bother him back then. And kudos to him for this acknowledgement. This is how we can all perhaps get along: let's remember we do not know it all, although we may all be very sure about what we feel and think (and yes, I know I'm quite stiff on this matter myself). Let's accept all opinions. We are entitled to find anyone's opinion silly, that's ok, and we are entitled to say so if we disagree. But we are also entitled and welcome to keep on thinking about the criticisms we received, and at the end of the day, of the month, of the year, we may end up understanding something new about this or that. This is why we are here. This is indeed what should keep us somewhat united.

keithmca
first off, there are a ton of horrible photos on the critique forum. It hurts to look at them sometimes. I have a hard time beleiving the posters actually want an honest critique and would rather just get some attention. fine. For people who would rather not have a critique forum/resource center overwhelmed with amatuers and sub-amatuers, move to another site. simple. photo.net is great for Am's. If you're a professional, you will have contact with some professional community to give advice so stay away or start your own site. john falkenstine
Interesting that the party who started this thread then goes around and accuses others of covert ratings under assumed names without any proof whatsoever....
jayme
John- How can it be proved or disproved? "Fairy Tale" email accounts are all over the place. I only bring it to your attention because this is what others are whispering. Sorry. More than a few have emailed me with their suspicions, I tend not to believe rumors. You know I like you and respect your work. You just seem to tick off a lot of people, me NOT included. No wonder they think you are these "imaginary people". I enjoy sparring with you. Maybe we can set the record straight. Are you GW? or FW? of GC? or FC? If not then just say "I am not these imaginary Evenators". I do not have any "fairy tale" accounts on PN. End of story. Those that want to belive will still believe, those that don't want to believe will not believe. Much like a fairy tale!
