havanai
Two questions: Fairly frequently when I try to rate a photo I get a message that I have already rated the photo /7 and /7. It asks if I wish to overwrite this "earlier" rating. This is a photo I am looking at for the first time and have never previously rated. Any idea why I get such a message? Second question, there is a photograph I want to rate, and I received the message I referred to above. I opted to overwrite or replace the false "earlier" rating. That didn't work and photo.net has not accepted my rating. Now when I try to rate it I get a message "Rating insert failed". Again, any idea why I get such a message? I rate other photos several times a week, but this one will not accept my votes. Thank you.
faith_cohen
Kurt, stuff like that happens. When it does I move on. There's so much to see, read, and learn on PN that such inconsequentials, much like posters who shadow my posts, matter not and are not worth my time. stevemarcus
Kurt, is it possible that the photo you are unable to rate is one that you skipped over in a critique session of "Rate Recent Critique Requests"? Unless it was corrected recently, there is a "bug" in the programming that makes photos unratable if you skip over them during a random critique session. When you skip over a photo, the system records that you have given it a rating of /7, /7. The "ghost" rating is not counted in calculating the average ratings for the photo, nor is your name listed among those who have rated the photo, even though the system remembers that you rated it (by skipping over it). Unfortunately, the system does not permit you to modify a /7, /7 ghost rating as it does "real" ratings.
