mspanakis
I have posted a photo on the 29 October. It has received, now, 21 comments which means it should show up in the second page of the Top Photos sorted by comments within a Week period. Many other pieces posted before or after mine with 21 comments, or even less, appear in that page today. Well, not mine. Can anyone explain me why before I assume there is sensorship on this cite? mottershead
It doesn't have enough ratings. In order to be in the "Week" view, a photo has to have 10 ratings, even for the rankings such as Number of Comments that are not based on ratings. Your photo does not have 10 ratings. faith_cohen
Now the photo has ten ratings, so enjoy the (comments) view!
mspanakis
Thank you Brian. It is clear now. What is the rule for the 3-day period? because this photo was listed the first 3 days.

mottershead
I don't think there is a minimum for the 1 day and 3 day views.
root
There is a minimum of one. This is done to prevent those who want comments only (no rates) from appearing on the list. A curious policy. Does it matter to anyone that the image in question has no RFC and that the number of comments was generated by only a few people, including eight by the maker? At least they weren't 'wow' comments. mspanakis
Pease excuse my ignorance. What does RFC stand for?
mspanakis
Oops, I figured it out myself. Request For Cretique?
rich815
36% of the comments "received" are from you alone.
mspanakis
Please don't take me wrongly. I am not a professional photographer and I couldn't care less if my snapshots appeared in the front pages. I know they don't diserve it. My purpose of membership is merely to find, and discuss with, people with similar interests. I just expressed a genuine curiosity about the system's mechanics. mspanakis
Maybe the system should distinguish self-comments and remove them from its statistics, if that matters. Unfortunatly, I cannot imagine an algorithm that will take account of the verbal content.
mark lucas
Ignoring "Nice colors!" would be a start.
