david_fields1
I want to "further" my photography through "assisting". Learning, not earning is my objective at this point. I'm in Chicago, getting nowhere - no contacts. Do I have to "pound the pavement" - sell myself? All I ask is for my material to be looked at - if there's nothing to come, fine. Any advise out there? joshwand
Flyers at photo labs & rental houses, and just plain cold calls. Go to workbook.com, do a search for photographers in your area who work in the genres you're interested in, and give them a call. If you've got the resources, direct mail works really well, too. art_haykin
Before getting into it, just what kind of stuff are you shooting, that is: "creative" or "artistic," or stuff that pays, like social photography or commercial? Any intelligent advice will depend on knowing.
