dcardoso
I think it would be good to have a Replace Photo function. I have found that once critiques have been made, and based on crits a photo edited, you have to upload a second copy or delete the original...losing all ratings and crits and views etc. It would be good to be able to just swap an image and continue discussion/crits. Yes? No?
emre
Some people use that function maliciously. Most infamously, a past winner of the POW deleted his portfolio and left an ugly picture of himself, rendering the POW discussion useless.
dcardoso
Well that sucks, I can't use a useful feature because someone else is a moron? How hard is it then for an admin to suspend, or terminate, an account in such an instance, instead of denying responsible users a feature? I mean, if intent was "malicious", then why not just...Offending User + Delete = problem solved? I take it then photo.net had this but removed it because of some jackass? emre
It was easier for the administrators this way, but I have no idea if the feature will reappear when the site software is updated in a month.
bobatkins
No What would the point be of having a bunch of critiques on an image you had removed? Just post a new copy and get new critiques.
dave_dube
I think what Bob may be saying, and I'm not speaking for Bob, is to leave the first photo with it's comments and ratings, just repost the second or altered/corrected version.<P>Dan, if you think about it, the ratings and comments are for the posted photo, not something different. The way most handle this is with thumbnail additions under the add a comment button. Granted, it would be a small file if you want it to appear with the comments or just have it the size you think will show correctly and it will have a link.<P>Dan, I know it seems frustrating but the ratings and comments go with the photo that was posted first.<P>Regards, Dave
bobatkins
That's what I'm saying. I don't see the point of having a bunch of comments posted underneath a photo that they no longer apply to.
