matt_jones3
Hello, I'm looking for a high quality image viewer program for the Mac. There was an earlier post, which discussed primarily Windows programs. Photo Mechanic was recommended for the mac, and indeed, it is a very nice program. But it is also $150, which seems a little steep for what it is. What do you use on your Mac to sort thumbnails, rotate images in a contact sheet, etc. Oh yeah, I also need something which can read Nikon's NEF files. I've had no success getting Nikon View to transfer images to the computer since upgrading to Panther.
sean_harding
I transfer images to the computer by just shoving the CF cards into a card reader and copying them to a folder. Then I use Photoshop CS's browser to do an initial edit (i.e. dump any really horrible shots -- out of focus, misexposed, etc.), and then iView MediaPro for organizing, archiving and cataloging. ray
iViewMediaPro is what you're looking for. Native NEF support as well as doing everything you've asked for. If you have Toast Titanium 5 on your hard disk, look in that directory and you'll find a copy of iView. You can use that to upgrade to the pro version at a very reasonable price.
