absinthe
I wouldn't have any problem with being a little sensitive to those who requie more of it, but the fact is, this joke had very little (I say nothing at all) to do with 9/11. Pretty much the equiv of telling a blonde joke & then claiming that it is insensitive to the Brunettes Against Hairdye Club
kevin m.
Funny, Matt, thanks for posting!
If you think his joke was offensive, try this:
A pedophile serial-killer is holding a boy's hand as they walk into the woods. The boy says, "I don't wanna go in the woods, mister. It's dark and I'm scared!" Man answers, "You're scared? I have to walk out of here by myself!" olivier_reichenbach
Thanks, Matt, very funny. Frank P., even if some terrorists had gone through Canada, don't you know that you cannot judge the past with the knowledge of the future? Who, at that time, was on high alert for terrorists? No one. Nowhere. Including in the US. And the FBI itself dismissed very important piece of info concerning the upcoming attack. But then again, the FBI is Canadian. vic_.
Frank, not a dead baby joke, but a close one for you:
When Edwin "Laissez les bons temps roulez!" Edwards was running for election as Governor of Louisiana, the night before the elections he said to an interviewer: "The only way I'll lose this election is if I'm caught in bed with a live boy or a dead girl!" kevin m.
Oh, what the hell, censors be damned! Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner are out on their yacht. Allen Herbert
All politicians are self serving and only concerned with getting themselves re-elected and fattening their stock funds. And I thought they were the Noble among us. Keep getting things wrong. Hope no Aussies hear you Vic, they all hate Fosters. Phew, I was getting worried about them. henryk_barnas
Funny or not it has nothing to do with what this forum is dedicated for. Allen Herbert
Bottom line, lets look at Sad man. A politician, yes, that's what he was. Kissed babies, told the voting power groups what they wanted to here; after the media conditioned them. Really, what was he all about...he's pocket, and ego. Sad as he was, he still sent millions to their death. Perhaps folk should really start using their own brain and thoughts. a novel idea, maybe. Just a few thoughts. Allen Herbert
My thoughts on politics, are very simple. Every person born on this little dirt ball flying through space, should by right, be entitled to education, shelter and food. What they do after that, is down to them. Until that condition exists, well, there are going to be Sad mans and Bin heads. Add extremism, politically and religious. Well, what do you think.....goodnight Vienna.# Or, goodnight humanity. Theres a thought.
Allen Herbert
Of course, you can always dream on. Sort of like a ostrich with it's head in the sand. It's all about education, so folks can think for themself..

Tony Rowlett
Allen said, "My thoughts on politics, are very simple. Every person born on this little dirt ball flying through space, should by right, be entitled to education, shelter and food."
Thankfully, this condition doesn't exist in the United States. Such rights would then lawfully oblige others to provide these things regardless of their will. Sounds like slavery to me. More equitable, of course, is the right of the persuit of these and other forms of happiness.
This thread is chattery and OT and completely unrelated to Leica Photography. But in light of the fact that I have been deleting so many OTHER off topic threads lately, this one can stay as long as, as Josh has pointed out, it doesn't get nasty and/or stupid. It's obvious that we need some flexibility here because of such a large and diverse membership. I can dig it. Now.... flame away. Backups? Allen Herbert
Some old bloke in ancient Greece, said all this, long before my thoughts. He was called Plato. He was a ugly old bloke, with a wife with a mouth like a crocodile. Suppose he sort of developed philosophy as compensation. Good night, and God bless.
