radu_lupsa
How is Agfa Vista 100 print film: color, contrast, grain, how does it compare to Fuji Superia 100 or Kodak Gold 100? Thanks for your opinions.
alaghi
I try AGFA vista 400, and I don't like. Good saturation, contrast, but the colors was not real, the colors changed. I don't know about other AGFA vista films, but AGFA optima II 100 and AGFA Ultra 100 is very good for my taste.
bill_tuthill
I like the colors of Vista, which are warm and remind me of Italian and Dutch Renaissance painting. The 200 was my favorite as a tradeoff of grain and speed. I say "was" because Vista has been updated and I haven't had a chance to try the new emulsion. There are two good Vista threads in the General forum: this one and this one. klix
I like the updated Vista -- rich colors, especially red hues.
chris_larranaga
I've used a bunch of the 100, 200, and 400, in the old formulation. In fact, it's been a while and I didn't know there was a "new" formulation. I like the color palette and it has lower contrast than most other consumer films--compares favorably to Superia-Reala in terms of contrast. In terms of grain, I haven't done much enlargement beyond 5x7 but the 100 and 200 do not have much visible grain at that size. OTOH, the 400 looks grainy as heck in 4x6 proofs, even when I've experimented with rating it at 320 or 240.
