  1. Just a quick question to see if anyone has come across a lens with these spec's. I got one with a Minolta XG-M body I picked up 1+ years ago and shoved in a drawer since it's labeled Quantaray. Anyways, I could swear that I've seen it at one time with another name on it. It's tight, heavy, multi-coated and smooth as silk. I'd love to see who actually made it since pic's with an adapter on a mirrorless body showed excellent images without any real testing being done. Just wish it was a little bit lighter but I'll probably still shoot it till I find a lighter carry. It also has a close focus setting btw.
  2. Following items used on my Panasonic camera and work perfectly. Camera retired so no longer need these items. All items are single lot and include shipping to the lower 48 States. For the following lenses $8 ea. Canon FD Nikon F Pentax SM ($5.50) Pentax K Wayne P.S. Been around here since the late 90's Had to re-establish my account
  3. In no particular order: Arca Swiss Discovery, M6 (own a M3 tho), OM2n, Canon F1N, Nikon F & 3HP, Minolta SRT/XD/700, ROLLEI 6008p. There's just as many if not more lenses I would love to try.
  4. Hi all; I'm currently looking at a D5600 body and would suspect that an older 50mm F1.8 AF-N would probably autofocus on it, but maybe somone with a D5xxx series might know. I suspect there is no metering with older MF legacy lenses tho. I'm also looking for a good short or long zoom outside my heavier AF-N 70-210 F4-5.6; Something that has stabilization and a decent price, new or used. My use is for travel/hiking with a lighter kit and being 66 years young.
  5. Yep I have all those bodies but I want a mirrorless as well. Any secondhand miirrorless bodies to watch out for?
  6. My old Panny G1 looks like it has had it's day and I wouldn't replace it except for the fact I have 5 different lens adapters for it with various lenses to boot. My question is whether the adapters will fit another mirrorless make or their specific to the Panasonis line. If they can fit another brand I'd want to go with something used with a few more Mp and less plastic if possible, but no more Panasonic. My next choice would be a current DSLR Nikon body as I have more lenses in that brand, but some in Canon, Pentax SC ank K along with Leica which I used on the Panny. I'm a casual shooter now and shoot film as well but next year I'll have more time to shoot and work at the craft. A mirrorless would be a second body.
  7. I've have a FT2 and FT3 that I would like looked at. Any suggestions for a a good repair shop for these older bodies?
  8. A $2K investment deserves perfect packaging. The bubble wrap crap doesn't cut it unless it's taped around the item and then that item put in a box that's put in another box with more insulation. Whoever packed it should be taught better. I've bought from B&H many times and occasionally wondered what the heck they were thinking when they packed my box. Especially given that they use UPS for delivery and i've received more then one box crushed in one way or another.
  9. Others will know better then I, but when I was looking at the Sony offerings when searching for a new digital camera and then after reading rmany reviews, it became apparent that their warranty service especially, or any service apparently, is lacking. This of course does not mean that their drop out rate is any higher then any one elses as far as I read, just to pay attention to the need for service, parts and turn around times. This is why many stick to Nikon and Canon. My question for you is, are you setup for post processing from a computer, screen and software perspective regardless of printing which is unto it's self can be a mony pit, depending of course on your needs. I eventually decided that my needs were fully satisfied by one of my film cameras in addition to my older Panasonic mirrorless.
  10. Thanks Michael for the info, and yes I would like something lighter. Mostly tho it's more appealing to have to have a tripod mount. Then at least I can use my monopod/tripod to take the weight off my arms.
  11. Charles, in so far as I know, the original battery was a 1.35 volt mercury and the PX625 is a 1.5 volt. I don't know that the camera will compensate.?
  12. I've had an old Ftb sitting in my chest of drawers for a few years now, a leftover of an Ebay purchase for a lens that I wanted on it, and have decided to pull it out and do a repair and attach a left over 200mm F4 ssc for some telephoto stuff. It's not going to be the lightest outfit, but it's the only body I have after getting out of the brand years ago for other's of lighter weight and ability. I have questions for those with more experience of the abilities of the new FD zooms in comparison to the above quoted lens and a new FD 200MM F4 at a lighter weight, as I would like to lighten up the load if possible, or perhaps gain a zoom if the performance abilities might be close to a fixed lens. Secondly, I question getting the meter fixed for silver oxides or maybe going with a CRIS adapter if still available. I previously have owned a FTBn which was sold years ago when I went up in format size. I loved the metering on that camera, and the mirror lockup feature, and so would like to return this older model to some usuage.
