1. I recently acquired a Canon Model 7 that I am using with an m39 Jupiter-12 lens. The first 2 film rolls I shoot with it just came in and something's wrong: Some scans have the right side of the image darker (pictures attached). Most of the images are like that, though in some scans "the darkness" on the right side is more evident than in others. All 3 images are from the same film roll and I've relied on the built-in light meter [that also seems a bit off]. Is this a shutter problem? Does it have to do with the lens protruding all the way to the back almost kissing the shutter curtain? Is this a problem from the lab? Can someone please share some insights? Thanks, Rui
 2.
Hello there,

while looking up the serial number to find out which model and year of production this camera has, i got confused:
The serial Number 596040 stands for a IIIf model, but this camera does have a different film advance knob (no red ASA indicator) from all the other IIIf models.
Does anyone know if the IIIf model was also produced with the film advance knob like in the attached picture?

Thank You

 3.
Jochen,

Im almost feeling guilty by even consider to make the trade...

I appreciate very much your insight. My shelf gave place to a dedicated room a few years ago. I`ve only recently put some of the cameras into use. Im not a pro, im just a photography curious.
There are a few medium formats but no Hasselblad yet and I am really getting into the square format.
Which Hasselblad model would be fair to trade for the Contax as is, in your opinion?

 4.
The deal: I hand over a Contax IIIa in full working condition with a Zeiss Opton Sonnar 50mm lens and get in return a Hasselblad 500 EL/M body and back with serial numbers that do not match. No lens included. The camera has been serviced recently.

Is this a good deal? Any advice?
Thanks

 5.
Hello Jochey,

...you can also participate. Thanks chap, I'll take your sensitivity on this subject in consideration next time...

Thanks a lot everyone! I'm ready to get started and have some fun :)

Bob Atkins, you're the man, thanks!

Regards,
Rui

 6.
Hello all,

Thanks everyone!

Bob, thanks a lot for your insights, really good information on this subject. I've actually purchased a few days ago an M42 to EOS adapter with AF confirmation chip, (already glued on the Adapter - link here) it just arrived...

I am a bit discouraged to put it on the camera and try it out now.

I've purchased through amazon.de and the dealear is XCSOURCE (from Hong Kong). Is this reliable?

Thanks,
Rui

 7.
Hello Jamie,

thanks for your answer.

I will also have a look on the lens you suggested.

Thanks,
Rui

 8.
Hello,

I've been looking for information on this matter but all I can find is unclear or outdated.

I learned about the M39 and M42 Adapters with AF Chip confirmation. Some reviewers say that infinity focus will be lost, others say that infinity focus is there...

These are the lenses that I have to use:
M39 mount:

Jupiter 12 2,8/35 Wide Angle

Helios 44 2/58

M42 mount:

Carl Zeiss Jena - Biotar 1:2 f=58mm T(red)

Meyer-Optik Görlitz Primagon 4.5/35

Meyer-Optik Görlitz Domiplan 2.8/50

Industar-50-2 3,5/50

I would like to know which of these lenses work with the Canon EOS 350D? Is the infinity focus an issue? How can one get around that?
Which adapters shall I get? Is this worth the trouble?

Please note, I am not a photographer and do not seek to get professional results out of this "crossbreeding".

Does anyone out there have already tried these tricks and would be kind enough to share some insights?

Thanks!
Rui

 9.
Thanks for the insights.
The blob of light on top left is a lamp hanging on the ceiling :)
I will try to find someone to have a look on the shutter...
I will get back here with the outcome.

Thank you all!

 10.
Hello,
I recently bought a Zorki C with its original collapsible lens plus a very well kept Jupiter 12 as part of the deal. The shutter cloth at speeds 50; 25 & Bulb stucks a bit, but still.
I loaded it with a 400 ISO film and attached the L39 Jupiter 12 wide angle lens. I've only used the shutter speeds 500 and 250 which work in good condition.
I've just picked up the results from the lab and almost all the pictures have some sort of flare from top to bottom.
Some examples:

I'm giving my first steps on film and have no idea why this happened.
Was this because of the lens? Incorrect film development? Camera?
Any ideas?
Thanks
